WITHIN ME

Within Me

Within me there’s a substance

Something that’s deep within

It can cause happiness, pleasure

Or sin

It sometimes sparkles

And shows in my eyes

It sometimes hurts me

And makes me cry.

Love is this substance

That I’m talking about

It’s deep within me

Trying to get out

But where will it go

If I open my heart

Will it come back to me

Or tear me apart.

Love is my life’s blood

It keeps me alive

If I’d never felt it

I’d have no need to strive
